User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 After an unclean system crash (e.g., power failure), the .mozilla directory may contain corrupted files in such a way that Mozilla can start up (after manually removing the "lock" file), but bringing up the Preferences window cause Mozilla to freeze. It seems that after a while, Mozilla will eventually exit with status 255. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: After deleting history.*, localstore.rdf, XUL.mfasl, 2933937*, and panacea.dat, Mozilla is able to start up again in a state where the Prefences window will not hang the browser, but the managed passwords are also lost. I don't know which combination of corrupted files is causing the freeze.
