As described in Bug 1755724, the current autofill feature in the password manager has its price.
An addition to autofill could be an auto-submit feature.
Auto-Submit would have the following process:
- User loads a page
- Credentials saved in password manager are displayed in a autocomplete pop up
- When the login page/form doesn't require any further user interaction like "Remember me"-Checkbox, reCaptcha, etc. the user or the password manager could automatically submit the login form.
E.g. the user could ctrl enter (or ctrl click) an option from the autocomplete list to auto-submit or we could classify for the user which forms don't have open user interactions and automatically submit in that case. This would have to be precised, because auto-submitting when the user still wants to interact with the page seems inconvenient.

First steps:
- How many users use the password manager and have
signon.autofillForms
set to true? - Should the user decide when to auto-submit?

Suggestion: lets call it Fill & Submit
? We have so many autos: autocomplete, autofill, autosubmit and I think for users it's much easier to understand "Fill & Submit".

Yes, let's get away from auto-ing every name!
I like Fill & Submit
. But I am wondering if it creates confusion with autofill. It might sound like we want to automatically fill an submit, but maybe that's just me having the auto-prefix in my head.
Another idea: How about Complete & Submit
, since we actually autocomplete first. That way there is no confusion?
