This is a response to my report on apple support group website:
How does the app-specific password work with Thunderbird Calendar these days? The online instructions are out of date and do not work.
a brody has replied to your question. You can view the full discussion in Communities.
What you need to ask Thunderbird, are they requiring Keychain, administrator or T2 chip security access?
If you need to update your keychain password on Mac - Apple Support
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202860 - administrator
Mac models with the Apple T2 Security Chip - Apple Support
Also verify that their Apple menu -> Security and Privacy -> Privacy settings are all checked that they need.
Ask them which ones need to be populated.
Lastly ask them if they are using the Notification preferences.

Because of Bug 1795862 I cannot create an iCloud calendar since TB version 102.1.0
I am experiencing the same issue. I have added iCloud calendars using TbSync/CalDAV plugin, and I was able to delete events for a while (so writing seems to have worked?) but creating events now fails. New events created on other devices still appear in TB, but sync shows the error mentioned above.
This is with v115.6.1 from Flathub.
I have reinstalled the version of Thunderbird from apt (Ubuntu 22.04), created an event there, and it got synced to my iPhone. Both versions of Thunderbird use the same app-specific iCloud access token, so it is not an issue with the token. (I have recently moved to the flatpak version and copied my data over.) I assume that there is some specific change stuck in my flatpak version that it cannot write to the server. I'll leave the flatpak version in this broken state for inspection, please let me know if I should extract any logs.
