Steps to reproduce:

Open a chat on Whatsapp Web in Firefox on Linux (this doesn't happen on Windows). Try to write a sentence beginning with an accented letter such as É or Á. For example: "É isso mesmo".

Actual results:

The letter is quickly erased, making it impossible to begin a sentence with an accented letter.

Expected results:

The accented letter in the beginning of the sentence should've been typed.

I was able to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 using Fx 106.0.5, Fx Beta 107.0 and Nightly 108.0a1. I used shortcuts CTRL+Shift+u 0226+Enter(for Á) and the letter is quickly erased as in video.
Note: This bug is not reproducible on Ubuntu 22.04 using Nightly 108.0a1(Wayland is enabled by default on Nightly on Ubuntu 22, for other builds and Ubuntu's versions we have xwayland)

I tried to find a regression range but it seems not to be a regression because the issue can be reproduced with shortcuts keys(CTRL+Shift+u 0226+Enter=Á) on an older build from 2018 but it's not reproducible if I'm using a keyboard layout on french with É letter.
I need more information from the reporter in order to reproduce the issue:

1. Which language do you use?
2. Which keys do you press for É or Á?

Thank you for your attention on this bug.

1. I use a Brazilian Portuguese keyboard layout, which is also named ABNT2.
2. I press the key ´ and then E or A. On ABNT2, the accent key is on the right side of the P key. You just have to press it and then press a letter in order to get an é or á.

I don't know if that is useful or not, but I am using the default Firefox that comes with Fedora Workstation 36, and I am on X11.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Firefox is in Brazilian Portuguese too.

Ok, I don't know if there has been an update or not, but the issue has been fixed (at least for me). I can now type any sentence starting with an accent on WhatsApp Web and it won't be erased.
