RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1799425

People

(Reporter: 6u7yxgm1l, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0

Steps to reproduce:

I can reproduce the issue consistanty like this:

  1. Add a youtube embed into an html file.
  2. Add a position: fixed; div with a backdrop-filter above it. The specific filter does not matter, all of them are broken. Blur showes the problem best.

Codepen: https://codepen.io/Onlinezwang/pen/GRGWedP

Actual results:

The effect breaks on the entire page. In case of blur, text retains its outlines but recieves a sort of shadow. The embeded video is blurred in the middle, but not at the edges, as are images.

This bug does not apply to Vimeo embeds.

It also happens in Firefox Nighly 108.0a1 (2022-11-10) and Firefox for Android 106.1.0

Expected results:

The effect should be rendered correctly, like it is once the embeded video is removed. It works in Chrome 107.0.5304.110 and (using -webkit-backdrop-filter) in Safari 16.1 (18614.2.9.1.12).

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Audio/Video: Playback
Product: Firefox → Core
Component: Audio/Video: Playback → Graphics: WebRender

Glenn, can you reproduce this?
