I attached a test case that was showed in Firefox support where background-clip: text is used in combination with -webkit-text-fill-color: transparent and where the text gets truncated in Firefox but neither in Chrome nor in Safari.

This screenshot shows the result in Chrome and the in Firefox. Note the truncated text on top for Firefox.

I don't seem to be able to repro this but this seems more in graphics-land.

This may be platform- and/or font-specific; I can repro on macOS when the default font is Apple's version of Times, but if I change it to Times New Roman, the issue doesn't occur. Presumably related to differences in the font metrics.
