Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 I use an IMAP server and I leave messages in my INBOX after reading them. Ever since I installed Mozilla 1.2b, it has continued to add to the number of new messages each time it starts. So, even if there is no new mail, it will say that there is (currently over 100). If there is new mail, the appropriate messages are properly highlighted, however. Because of the turbo bug, this means that every time I close all windows, the next time I open Mail, it will count all those messages again. This did not happen in version 1.0. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start MailNews. 2. Close MailNews. 3. Start MailNews again. Actual Results: "gail has 133 new messages" Expected Results: Nothing (there was no new mail)

Sorry. This is a duplicate of 152650. I forgot I'd submitted that one. :( Anyway, this one has more information.

I think I figured out what's going on here. The "hidden" message--the one with the subject "DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE -- FOLDER INTERNAL DATA"--doesn't get moved to the end of the mail folder. (Forgive me if this is a "no, duh" conclusion, but it didn't occur to me before, so maybe it didn't occur to you either.) The problem doesn't seem to be happening to me anymore, though I am experiencing another, probably unrelated, problem. So, I took a look at my inbox vi ELM on my shell account, and noticed that the abovementioned hidden message was at the end. I'm guessing that it was trapped somewhere in some misformed message that I probably moved to a separate folder the other day. (I did a little housekeeping.) Once it was freed, it could be properly rewritten at the end of the file. (I will file a bug on my other problem and post a comment about it here, just in case it is related somehow.)

The other bug I mentioned is not related. It appears to be a JavaScript problem.
