[Prerequisites]:

• Have the latest version of Firefox Beta 108 installed and opened.
• Have the channel pref set to “release”.
• Have the “nimbus.debug” pref set to true in the “about:config” page.

[Steps to reproduce]:

1. Force enroll in the Treatment A branch of the experiment using the following link: about:studies?optin_slug=colorways-expiring-fx108&optin_branch=treatment-a&optin_collection=nimbus-preview
2. Change the system date to 2 days in the future.
3. Restart the browser, open and close 3 tabs.
4. Unfocus the Address bar and don’t interact with the Firefox View CFR.
5. Navigate to Firefox View tab and dismiss the “Firefox View Callout” messages.
6. Change the system date to 29th December 2022 and restart the browser.
7. Navigate to a website (e.g. cats.com).
8. Click the “Choose colorway” button from the Colorway Reminder CFR.
9. Observe what happens.

[Expected result]:

• The “Firefox View” page is focused, and the “Try Colorways” modal is opened.

[Actual result]:

• The “Firefox View” page is focused, and the “Try Colorways” modal doesn’t open.

[Notes]:

• This issue is also reproducible in the Treatment B, C, and D branches of the experiment.

Hi Simona, thanks for checking on this issue. @vtay - should we update the targeting to include checking that the Firefox View feature tour is complete? If it's not, the tour will show when we focus the Firefox View tab from the reminder panel (like in Simona's video).

Just to confirm - This is the first time the user is entering Firefox View and this triggered the feature tour. From a flow perspective, this is intended (ref: https://www.figma.com/file/ZGfPtwxqki3dWLB0c1CJmY/Fall%2FWinter-2022-Experiments?node-id=1663%3A14242&t=wwtZJcuzD5WRzu3a-0)

Wontfix as seeing the Firefox View feature tour is expected if it hasn't been completed yet. Setting browser.firefox-view.feature-tour to {"screen":"","complete":true} in about:config will allow for testing the flow where the Colorways panel appears when Firefox View is focused.
