Most of the metric API docs reflect the behaviour and opinions of the current (unreleased, sometimes, even) version of the Glean SDK. The event
metric docs are a little odd in that they include a pre-v38 suboptimal version of record()
, and a notation that the recommended version was only added in v38 (May 12, 2021... aka 1.5 years ago. No "only" about that).
Can we now remove the old one and the "Added in v38.0.0" comment? Or if not now then when?

We can remove it now.
While we still have clients on v38 (or something close to that), we should have no current version of any Glean consumer use a version that old.

chutten merged PR #2297: "bug 1802550 - Remove deprecated-since-v38 record(map) API from event metrics" in e41853d.
