User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826

Using the steps described below, Mozilla will scroll without any mouse button
being pressed. It seems as if the left mouse press is forgotten when the right
button is clicked.

This scrolling behavior also occurs if a message pops up as I scroll a window
using the scrollbar handle.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press left mouse button on the scrollbar handle
2. Drag the mouse into mozilla
3. Click right mouse button
4. Release left mouse button (outside popup menu)

Actual Results:
When the mouse is moved, the window will scroll until you click left mouse button.

Expected Results:
Not scroll

A similar problem occurs in the content area of Mozilla. Press left button on
any text, click right button, release left button. Now you can select the text
without touching any buttons at all.
confirming. regression on the trunk between 2002042610 and 2002042807 and then
on the 1.0 branch between 2002043008 and 200205113. blizzard's gtk event
handling patch (bug 129591) appears to be the only relevant checkin matching
both those criteria.

This worksforme, linux trunk build 2002-11-14-21. Is this 1.0-branch-only at
this point?
I'm seeing the bug with linux trunk build 20021114

i'm seeing this bug too, but i've learned to use it...
it's a bit like mouse gestures... after you get used to it becomes really useful...
any chance you might be adding a (proper) mechanism of scrolling without
pressing any buttons?
