Confirmed for build ID 20021115 in Win 2000 SP1. Navigator is completely unusable! See talkback IDs TB14078765W, TB14078567W. 1) start navigator directly. Splash screen visible, then immediate crash 2) start mailnews. Open navigator through menu. This works. ??? Nominate as a BLOCKER issue

This seems to be a profile(migration) issue! - Create a NEW profile with the build 20021115 - Start navigator directly. No more problems, no startup crash ;-) Something has happened inside profile structure which causes later builds to crash when you open a previously created profile.

I think two different bug are here. My original bug report is about some crashes I sometimes get when starting Mozilla. I can start Mozilla, but sometimes it crashes just after the splash screen. It's not a profile migration issue. Please open a new bug on all other bugs that the original reported.

Hi Henrik, re-tested this issue with build ID 20021118, either with the old and with a new profile. In both cases, Mozillas Navigator seems to be stable again. By the way: I noticed that for the nightlies I FTP-downloaded before 2002-11-18 06:11, the ZIP file date was something like 2002-11-18 4:xx while the file dates INSIDE the zip were of 2002-11-15 xx. maybe something went wrong with the building process...

Thommie: if you're not seeing the exact same problem, then it would be better to discuss that issue in a different bug. (You are right, by the way, that the windows builds got stuck)

From stephend's stack, this looks like a dup of bug 157760. If anyone agrees, please mark it so. Thanks.

hard to be 100% sure with these stacks, but looks very similar. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 157760 ***
