macOS
Nightly 110.0a1 (2022-12-21) (64-Bit)
1.) Open a new Nightly Window with two tabs
2.) Visit a page in each tab
3.) Switch between the two tabs
Actual: The title of the selected tab expands to the right which feels really disturbing :(
Expected: Use in both tabs, selected and unselected, the same font thickness.
This is a regression from bug 1704347.

Set release status flags based on info from the regressing bug 1704347
:dao, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 1704347, could you take a look? Also, could you set the severity field?
For more information, please visit auto_nag documentation.
Using the same font like before, but with a more faded-out font for the unselected tabs would be a better solution. This would avoid this tab title flicker what makes me cry :(
Thanks for listening!
This change really makes no sense to me!
We have thousands of themes and also an official extension (Firefox Color) to create own themes to have a more prominent Tabstrip for differentiation. Also, all OS'es have a setting for Accessibility, where, when enabled, Firefox could provide another visual UI for better differentiation between selected or unselected tabs. All other browser are using this way, too.
PLEASE, revert the bold font for the selected tab! PLEASE, use for the selected and unselected the same font thickness again!
This title jumping is really annoying, which unfortunately forces me to use another Browser than Nightly at the moment.
Thanks for listening.

@Misha -- This is a legitimate concern that we should look into. Let's chat on this one.
Many, many thanks for reverting the recent changes 🙏. Nightly is usable now again!

Indeed, it’s gone in 20230106214742. I believe it was still there in 20230106095123.

Reproduced this issue on an affected Nightly build from 2022-12-22, on Windows 10 x64, using the STR from the description.
Verified as fixed on Firefox 110.0b2 (20230117185909) on Windows 10, macOS 10.15 and Ubuntu 21.04.
