Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:108.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/108.0

Steps to reproduce:

Tap the overflow menu (three vertical dots) at the bottom right of Firefox Mobile's interface.

Actual results:

The overflow menu is displayed, but truncated: the last four items are not shown (strictly speaking, "Install" is almost entirely cut off screen and "Add to shortcuts", "Save to collection" and "Settings" are entirely hidden).

Expected results:

The whole menu should be displayed, or at least all of it which fits in the screen. This partially shown menu is not helpful, overall: showing only part of the menu while subtly hinting that there is more to the menu by cutting off part of a menu item is completely lost on many users.

Furthermore, "Settings", which is a very useful item, should not take 4 taps to reach. Right now it's:

  • tap overflow menu (three vertical dots)
  • scroll up once, now "Install", Add to shortcuts" and "Save to collection" are fully visible, but the scrolling stops there
  • scroll up again, now "Settings" in visible
  • tap "Settings"

This is two interactions too many. Who cares about "Add to collection" when "Settings" are obviously an item of more importance. I can reach the Android settings in 3 taps/swipes from anywhere in the OS.
