User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 11; Mobile; rv:109.0) Gecko/110.0 Firefox/110.0

Steps to reproduce:

I attempted to grant access to the websites that https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/android/addon/universal-trakt-scrobbler/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=collection and https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/android/addon/mal-sync/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=collection.

Actual results:

The respective prompts to allow access to the websites did not appear.

Expected results:

The prompts should have appeared (probably as dialogs, although I'd prefer as new tabs).

The severity field is not set for this bug.
:cpeterson, could you have a look please?

Hi Julian,
Thanks for reporting,
Could you add more details about which permission prompt is not showed ? I tried on Firefox desktop with both links listed above, but none permission showed. Could you add more information about the steps to reproduce.

Could you add more information about the steps to reproduce?

Certainly:

I tried on Firefox desktop with both links listed above, but none permission showed.

I can't provide the full URI since firefox stupidly auto-generates local extension (UU)IDs, but opening moz-extension://{extension}/options.html#/ and clicking "All" should open a prompt to gain additional site access permission, unless you've somehow already granted them at installation time (which shouldn't be possible).

Please verify that this works for you.

We don't have specific timeline yet.

Thanks for all the details!

Looking to our history, it looks like we already added support for showing a prompt for optional permissions here, please could you verify in the latest Firefox for Android if the issue is still present.
Thanks in advance!

Changing as resolved/fixed and added https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-android/pull/3917 to the "see also" field to highlight which change fixed it (and assigned to William, given he authored the patch that fixed it).
