User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:108.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/108.0

Steps to reproduce:

Touch on any text field on any website other than the address bar, after the On-Screen keyboard pops up, then try and use backspace to delete text.
OS: Manjaro with Gnome

Actual results:

hitting the backspace moves the cursor similar to what would happen if you hit the backspace and back arrow at the same time on a regular keyboard.

Expected results:

Just delete the text as normal

Confirmed with Nightly and 2019-01-30 on Gnome Wayland (MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1), Debian Testing. No problem with gedit.
And on Xwayland, the screen keyboard does not open.

Xorg Started working fine sometime between when I made this post and now. It's now a good workaround to my issue.
