Using Samsung S21

I can reproduce as described on my Samsung Note 20
Android 13
Focus version
109.1.1 (Build #370122129
109.0-20230112150232)

Happening on S20 Ultra.

Android v13
Firefox Focus version 109.1.1

Thank you for the report!
I was not able to reproduce this issue on the latest RC 109.1.1, nor on the latest Focus nightly 111.0a1 from 1/22, or Beta 110.0b2.
I've tested with Google Pixel (Android 13), and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Android 9).

Could you, please provide more details about the device you were using, the page you were on, or any extra information that could help fixing this?

This seems to have started happening after a recent security update which I got last week.

In case it helps I observe that when you browse to the above webpage it appears normally in Portrait, but when transitioning to landscape the screen goes grey. When transitioning back to portrait the screen reappears although it now zoomed in. This happens sometimes when at the top of the page, but looks to not be the same if you are mid page (ie zoomed view doesn't occur if you are not at the top of the page).

Hello!
Thank you for submitting the issue. I was able to reproduce it on the Focus RC 109.1.1 build using the following device: Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Android 13).
As far as I've seen, the issue is fixed in the Latest Focus Nightly from 23rd of January 2023 (111.0a1) and Focus Beta 110.0b2.

Severity: -- → S2
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true

Since the status is marked as unaffected for nightly and as affected for release, is it unaffected or affected for beta?

This seems to happen in any webpage after the homescreen.
Like another user above said, this started sometime around last week.

I can reproduce as well, on the two Android phones that have locally to test.
Devices: Google Pixel 4a & Google Pixel 6a. (I freshly installed Focus on the 4a today, FWIW, and was immediately able to reproduce.)
Android Version: 13
Firefox Focus About Page: my version numbers are all the same as in comment 9.

That's good to hear. If we happen to know what fixed it, it'd be useful to have that linked up here as a dependency or a duplicate-target or similar.

Same on Pixel 4a. Occurs on any page and when viewing full screen video.

This problem does not seem to occur if the browser theme is set to light/dark manually. If it's set to system default then the problem occurs again.

The fix present in 110 and 111 was uplifted in 109: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-android/pull/618

This problem does not seem to occur if the browser theme is set to light/dark manually. If it's set to system default then the problem occurs again.

QA, can you please verify that this Focus bug is fixed in Focus 109.1.2 with both the manual and automatic light/dark browser themes?

I don't know when version 109.1.2 will been published to the Google Play Store yet. I know Focus 109.1.1 still has the bug.
