As a user I want Firefox to collect tabs from other apps allowing me to process several items from the other app before switching to Firefox.

Since launching "Tab Queue" in Fennec there have been some Android platform changes:

• It's harder to actually draw over other apps (requires permission)
• There is a conflict between custom tabs ("open immediately and look like third-party app") and tab queue ("open in the background").

With due respect, re-implementing a core feature that already existed into the new version is not an enhancement, it's core development. Having to repeatedly switch back and forth between apps when working through a list of links is already driving me mad, and I have only just moved to the new version of Firefox for Android from v68 within the last week due to Cloudflare starting to catch it in their "browser integrity checks".

I held out so long because the new app is still far from finished and was proven right in doing so as both add-ons and tab queue are somehow still not supported in the new app. These are both core functionality that should have been completed a long time ago, not "enhancements". This bug clearly needs a real severity for development, not "N/A".

My previous comment being hidden as advocacy is an odd decision. Tab Queue is not a hidden or advanced setting or a flag, nor is it a new concept or a notable shift in paradigm for Mozilla / Firefox, it is a simple toggle in General settings of the v68 browser. If that does not qualify as a "core feature" of the browser, and is merely a no-severity enhancement, then does anything even qualify as core beyond "can load and render HTML"?

Unlike Chris I still use Fennec and if I came across a cloudflare site I share from Fennec to a Beta version of Firefox. I see that even the hack that I came across that allowed me to sign into Firefox Sync isn't going to work in future going off the email that I received. If you want to you can turn off the telemetry for this old version if you like. I'm used to you not caring what I think and doing whatever you like with Firefox on all platform versions. Just know that I will even side load, using adb, fennec onto later phones where I can't install via apk because of the api restricting features in future Android versions because I value Tab queueing that highly.

It seriously hinders practicality. With the constant switching aways.

I don't know how the platform changes mentioned in the OP are even relevant, since with Fennec it works as well as ever. Even now.

It should be labelled as a "regression", not an "enhancement". Because that's what it is.

I think Firefox could show a prompt or notification, like "Due to tabs queue is enabled, tabs will open when Firefox launch." or "Tabs will open when Firefox launch."
