User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/109.0

Steps to reproduce:

On Bookmaks menu, the text in no more reduced (with the "..."), il goes to the end of the box.
Also when hovering over the bookmarks in the bookmarks menu the relevent URL is not displayed, only two outer lines.
This hovering bug is also active/visible on a web page, it display one empty box (two outer lines).
I'm on Windows 7 (64 bits).
Thank You.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Bookmarks & History

The hovering bug is present only when i use the "windows classic" theme on windows 7.
When i use the "classic" windows 7 theme the URL is present in the box, dark background and white text.
(but the long text bug is still here).

I've managed to reproduce this issue on Firefox 109.0.1 and Firefox 109.0b9, but it's not always reproduceable on my side on Nightly 111.0a1 while having enabled the "Windows Classic" theme on Windows 7.
Could you please let me know if the issue persists for you in the latest version Nightly 111.0a1?

Hi,
on the Nightly 111.0a1 build the Bookmaks menu are correct now, aligned text with the"..." at the end.
But hovering over the bookmarks, the box is still transparent/Empty, same issue.
I also got this issue on some web pages.

gods69, thank you for confirming.

If you're willing, we have a tool called mozregression that will automate the process of downloading various builds from older versions of Firefox to the latest development cycle and we can narrow down the change that's causing problems.
Information on the tool is available at http://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/.

Given this appears to be Windows 7 only, and it happens on web pages and not just the bookmarks menu, I'm moving this over to our windows widget component for more investigation there.

Actually, this appears to be a duplicate of bug 1810330.

No, the behavior here is very different. Bug 1810330 isn't Win7-limited (I've reproduced it on Win10), and doesn't involve the classic theme. Additionally, though it wasn't obvious from the OP, the later images in bug 1810330 make it clear that it's in reference to a very different UI component.

I agree that it's probably closely related to 1800742, though.

Hi, some news on the bug ? It is always present in Version 113.0.2...

Bug fixed in version 114.0.1. Thanks !

This was fixed by the work in bug 1832370, and should have been closed along with it. Closing as DUPLICATE despite the slightly different presentation.
