From github: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/25021.

What is the user problem or growth opportunity you want to see solved?

The Fenix team would like to receive crash reports for more crashes affecting users.

How do you know that this problem exists today? Why is this important?

Fenix's crash reporter requires the user to manually submit each crash report. Users might just close the tab or browser without submitting the crash report.

For parent or background process crashes, the user doesn't see a crash reporter dialog. The user has to open the system notification tray and tap the "Sorry. Firefox had a problem and crashed" notification before they are asked if they'd like to submit a crash report.

Who will benefit from it?

Users will benefit because the Fenix team will be better able to prioritize and debug the top crashes affecting users.

Please allow synchronisation of configuration of this ability so that my automation of submission is autonatically configured.

Synchronized using Firefox Sync? So your crash setting is the same on different Android devices and on desktop Firefox?

https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/25021#issuecomment-1117461263

cpeterson@mozilla.com, yes: synchronisation of it across all clients and devices, because I am able to utilise about:config if I want it to not synchronise, but I am unable to force the configuration to synchronise (to my knowledge).

We can ship the "Automatically send crash reports" setting before the new crash reporter dialog (meta bug 1903333).

Matt says we need to add a new local feature flag to allow enabling automatic submission without the new crash reporter dialog from bug 1903335. We'd like to ship automatic submission in Fx 135, but the new dialog needs more testing.

Release Note Request (optional, but appreciated)
[Why is this notable]: Users can more easily share crash reports with Mozilla to help us find and fix bugs.
[Affects Firefox for Android]: Yes
[Suggested wording]: To help Mozilla find and fix crashes, you can opt into automatically sharing crash reports by checking the new Data Collection setting "Automatically submit crash reports".
[Links (documentation, blog post, etc)]: Not yet. We're writing a new SUMO article in bug 1931083, which will hopefully be ready for Fx 135 release. The new article's placeholder URL is https://support.mozilla.org/kb/crash-reports-pref
