What version of flash are you using?
AboutPlugins reports:
    File name: npswf32.dll
    Shockwave Flash 5.0 r41

When I tried to go to www.macromedia.com to see if this was out of date, Mozilla
crashed again! Hmm! This may in fact be the trouble, but...
if I can't get to the macromedia site, I dunno how I'll update the
flash-plugin... :(

Update:
I found and renamed the "npswf32.dll" file.
This allowed me to go to www.macromedia.com and download an updated flash-plugin.
This fixed my immediate problem of crashing when I visit frontpagemag.com and
macromedia.com.

The fact that Moz crashes this way is a problem, though.
Telling the average user to zap his plugin will not be acceptable...
There should be a way to switch on/off individual plugins in the interface...
There should also be a way to block ".swf" just as there is for images... esp
since many ads are now swf's...

This is still a real bug...
Flash 5 is crashing because Mozilla has recently started being compiled with
-DUNICODE. Either pick an older build, make one yourself with the flag off, or
get the Flash 6 that comes with Netscape 7:

ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/7.0/windows/win32/ewc9e/flash.xpi
