User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/110.0

Steps to reproduce:

Select any text field in a webpage, and begin typing.

Actual results:

My cursor did not disappear.

Expected results:

My cursor should have disappeared, as it used to since the first time this bug was fixed: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1759558 but at some point, that fix apparently broke?

Could you run mozregression to see when this started happening?

A number of Firefox versions will open in succession to narrow down when this started occurring. Simply answer "good" or "bad" based on whether or not a build reproduces the bug. Once finished, please post the output from the last run. It should give a last good and first bad revision as well as a link to look at the changesets in that range. Thank you!

There you have it, it narrowed it down to this: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D155275

(Is there any other information you need from mozregression before I close it? I've never used this tool before, I'm not sure which parts of the interface you want me to report on...)

Okay, so this functionality was intentionally turned off in bug 1774453 due to regressions. If you're not affected by the reported regressions, you can turn this functionality back on by setting the widget.windows.hide_cursor_when_typing pref to true in about:config.
