Steps to reproduce:
Address a message to a recipient for whom I have an accepted key where the primary key has not expired and the encryption subkey has expired.
Actual results:
Attempting to send the message produces an error message stating "Sending of the message failed"
Expected results:
Error message should state that the encryption subkey has expired.

This appears to have been fixed previously in version 82, so it's a regression?
See bug 1665497.

Actually, when I had the original key for this recipient (which the master key was also expired) I had a bar at the bottom of the message informing me that the key was expired and couldn't be used. When I imported the more-recent key (for which the master was still good but the encryption subkey was expired) there was no bar. It probably should have the bar at the bottom before sending under that circumstance as well.

There were recent improvements that notify the user in composer if the configured key has expired.
Maybe that resolves the situation?
Please reopen if it doesn't.
