Favicon is not properly loading, neither from a fresh start or by resetting the favicons.sqlite

The issue has been reported on webcompat.com, but since the favicon presents an issue when viewed in the "History" option of the browser, we have moved it to this project. If the issue does not belong here, please feel free to move the issue to the relevant Project and Component.

Verified this issue and it's still reproducible on Firefox versions 122 and 124.

Environment:
Operating system: Windows 10
Browsers: Firefox Nightly 124.0a1 (2024-01-24) / Firefox Release 122 / Chrome 121.0.6167.86

Notes:

  • Not reproducible on Chrome
  • Until now we've classified these kind of issues as non webcompat
