Affected versions:

  • Nightly (112.0a1/20230228085339)

Affected platforms:

  • All

Description:
While on the Addons Manager page (about:addons), pressing CTRL+F would focus the search bar at the top of the page (the search bar designated for searching add-ons on AMO)
Now, pressing the keyboard shortcut brings up the “Find in page” search bar at the bottom of the screen instead.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Access about:addons
  2. Press CTRL+F
  3. Observe the “Find in page” search bar at the bottom of the page is brought up instead of the search bar at the top being focused

Actual:
The search bar on about:addons can no longer be focused via CTRL+F shortcut

Expected:
Users should still be able to focus the search bar on about:addons via the CTRL+F shortcut.

Hi Alex,
We changed that behavior in Bug 1499500 and so the new behavior is actually the expected one.

Before closing this as invalid I wanted to double-check with you if there was a particular reason that prompted this QA verification.

Hi Luca !

This was the behavior documented in one of our release tests and I took it for granted as being the expected one i.e. CTRL+F focuses the searchbar.

I understand this has been changed and as such the bug can be closed. I'll also update the tests.

Thank you for the info !

Thanks for the confirmation Alex!

Closing as invalid then.
