See attached gif for a demonstration of the issue. I captured this by going to https://wiki.archlinux.org/ and scrolling to the end of the page with the End key, however the issue is reproducible in other conditions like simply scrolling through a page or changing window focus that will cause the text to subtly rearrange vertically.

Thus far I have tried:

  • clean profile / safe mode
  • official firefox linux build, beta and nightly builds
  • disable hardware acceleration in Settings, disable smooth scrolling
  • disable window compositor, different DE (cinnamon)

Running on Arch linux / Xorg.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Graphics: WebRender' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Sounds like the same issue as bug 1801098.

Toma, if this bug is is the same as bug 1801098, it should have been fixed by 1817126. Can you please try the latest nightly to see if it's still happening or not? Thanks!

I confirm I am no longer able to trigger the bug effect under the nightly build. Many thanks for squashing this!
