Found in
- Firefox 111.0.1
Affected versions
- Firefox 102.9.0esr
- Firefox 111.0.1
- Firefox 112.0b5
- Nightly 113.0a1
Tested platforms
- Affected platforms: Windows 10
Preconditions
- 2 computers needed - one must be a Windows 10 Desktop machine with an external webcam that has an integrated microphone and double 3.5mm jack plugs/or USB.
Steps to reproduce
- Log into Facebook on two different computers (headsets are plugged in).
- Start a call between the 2 computers.
- Unplug the headsets on the Windows 10 machine.
- Plugin the headsets back into the Windows 10 machine.
Expected result
- In step 3 - the webcam's microphone should be used after unplugging the headset.
- In step 4 - the headset's microphone should be used after being plugged in.
Actual result
- The webcam's microphone is picked up after unplugging but the switch to the headset's microphone is not happening after plugging it back.
Regression range
- Not a recent regression as I could reproduce it also on Firefox 102.9.0esr - I'll investigate more when time allows.
Additional notes
- I could not reproduce this on Windows 10 on a Lenovo laptop - the microphone was picked up from the TRRS headset after being re-plugged.
- This issue is not reproducing on Chrome.
