Steps to reproduce:
Go to https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=notifications and select Firefox push notifications. I have set up to allow notifications from facebook.com manually in the permissions window.
Actual results:
Browser section gets grayed out. Notifications don't work. This has been an issue for many months now. It worked without issues along time ago though.
Expected results:
Notifications should work for basic Facebook items and messages.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Notifications and Alerts' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

I have no lead on what's happening here but Firefox is also not working with https://webpushdemo.azurewebsites.net/, see Bug 1824645. It might be the same underlying cause.

Hello! I have tried to reproduce the issue with firefox 113.0a1(2023-04-07) on Windows 10 and Ubuntu 22.04 unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce the issue on my end. Could you please answer the following questions in order to further investigate this issue.
- Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
- Does this issue happen in the latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
- Do you have any addons installed if so can you list them?
