I don't know whether the bugs I just submitted caused this behavior, but now clicking on the announcements newsgroup link causes Mozilla to crash. -=* Crash dump from clicking on the Announcements link *=- APPRUNNER caused an invalid page fault in module MSGBSUTL.DLL at 018f:60929139. Note - that type of link was a news: - that must be the source of the problem.

tkr - what build are you using? We had a bug where clicking on any news or mailto link causes a crash. That has already been fixed in the more current builds. Thanks.
This was using M10 on Win98. Any more details are available on request.
tkr: this bug was release noted in M10. It has been fixed and will be available in M11 when it comes out shortly. http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12198

Scott, is this a dup of the bug Lisa mentioned?

Yeah, Lisa's right, the crash is a duplicate of Bug #12198. We were crashing for new for the same reason we crashed for mailto urls. We don't crash with M11 but we also don't load the news url in messenger. This is because url dispatching isn't implemented yet. The more interesting bug to follow for this is Bug #14928. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 12198 ***
