what version does your flash plugin have? If it is below 6 does the upgrade fix
the crash?
WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021129.
Do you have a Talkback ID to provide?
quick scan didn't show any flash on this page, so i don't think it's flash
related. WFM using 2002112908 WinXP Pro SP1.
there is flash on the page; a MS add half way down the left side.
No crash on Linux, CVS.

If you are using the same profile with 1.1 and 1.3a, that might cause problems.
Does the crash also occur if you quit moz, delete XUL.mfl, then restart, and
delete cache before going to heise.de ?
Reporter:
Which Flash version Do you use (see help/about:plugins)
no flash on this page ????

if(plug == 1){
	document.write('<EMBED SRC="'+shockwaveFile+'"
TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" WIDTH="137" HEIGHT="150" PLAY="true"
LOOP="true" QUALITY="autohigh"
PLUGINSPACE="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=Shockwave"></EMBED><IMG
SRC="http://www.heise.de/RealMedia/ads/adstream_lx.ads/www.heise.de/navi/Homepage/1825383874/Left/HE49XXX563XX2/HE49XXX563XX2_1.html/61636230623566313364653863373530?_RM_EMPTY_"
WIDTH="1" HEIGHT="1">');
}
That is truly strange! On http://www.heise.de/ if i do a view source and FIND
"embed" "plug" "flash" "loop" or whatever : none of the terms are found!

Even bothered to search manually for those and i don't see them :-\
Hello,
prior to the installation I uninstalled Mozilla 1.1 via the uninstaller and
deleted the C:\Programme\mozilla.org directory. Then I installed the Mozilla
trunc build. I have no Flash plugin in C:\Programme\mozilla.org\Mozilla\Plugins.

I did not delete my C:\WINNT\Profiles\Administrator\Anwendungsdaten\Mozilla
directory.

If it helps I can delete all Mozilla directories an do a clean new install of
the trunc build.

Mozilla 1.1 finds the neccesary plugins for Shockwave Flash / File name:
npswf32.dll / Shockwave Flash 5.0 r41 (I think from my old Netscape directory).
It would be helpfull if Mozilla about:plugins displays the complete path.

The complete path is disabled for security reasons.
(a website can use the same functions to get your plugins path)

To get your full path :
Close mozilla, create a "user.js" in the same place as you can find "prefs.js"
(in your profile) and add this line in the user.js :
user_pref("plugin.expose_full_path", true);

The flash in that page is random added (flash ad).
We asked because we know that flash5 will crash recent Mozilla builds.
(error in the old plugin but we will workaround that).

Please install flash6 and it will work !
marking as dupe of bug 179822 (please reopen if you get this with flash6 but it
works in my builds and I visit heise every day)
