Steps to reproduce
0. Use a new profile or private window, if needed, since page remembers that you have gone through the transitional effect
- Open https://www.sbnation.com/a/17776-football
- scroll down if needed so text begins to increase
Expected result
Like in Chromium: text of the article smoothly increases until all page is black and than a green March 43 calendar page appears. Memory usage only slightly increases (a couple of 100 MB)
Actual result
Text increase effect is very jerky /slow and Firefox memory usage increases by about 3 GB (the first time Firefox got killed by OOM since I did not have enough free memory)

I can reproduce this locally. There is some minor jank for me with Chrome, but the experience is certainly far worse in Firefox. Here is a profile: https://share.firefox.dev/41x6iuK. There are some very long composite times in the Renderer process.

Confirmed behavior in Fx114 (Nightly) on Win10 with NVIDIA 2080 Ti chip set (driver 531.79). Memory goes up by almost exactly 1GB, and I'm seeing slight jank in the text scaling.
