User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pl-PL; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021128
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pl-PL; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021128

The layout of www.tv4.pl is broken in Mozilla/Netscape, while MSIE, Konqueror
and Opera display that website properly. The channel's logo is displayed at the
bottom instead of the top of the left iframe, the lowest iframe doesn't fit the
page and
inspite of this - some information is not visible.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to http://www.tv4.pl

Actual Results:
See a completely broken layout.

Expected Results:
Display www.tv4.pl as Konqueror and MSIE do.

I have just notified promocja@tv4.pl (PR department) and informatyka@tv4.pl
(computer department) about that.
I checked also Netscape 7 for Linux and Mozilla 1.3a for Windows - the page acts
in the same way.
Confirming and accepting.

The priority is low as this does not really stops the user from doing anything
except maybe reading "W tym tygodniu polecamy".

I will search for possible Mozilla bugs before I contact the webmaster. It is
possible that the fault is on our side.

BTW, this is my second bug about tv4.pl. The first one, bug 170151, was fixed
last month. It seems they keep changing the site very often :-(

Adding Piotr to CC: as he was the reporter of the previois bug.
Interesting. With Mozilla I see two logos (top and bottom), with IE one at top
(probably the expected behavior) and with Opera none at all. But Opera shows
correctly the top frame.

It seems this time the webauthor really pushed the envelope :-(

BTW, the webauthor email (from page source) is biuro@mv.net.pl
When DOCTYPE is changed to <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01
Transitional//EN"> the frame shows OK. Mozilla has two layout mode "Standards"
and "Quirks" triggered by the DOCTYPE. "Quirks": is supposed to be compatible
with NN$ and/or IE while "Standardas" is the w3c.org sanctioned behavior.

So it seems Mozilla is right and IE wrong, but who will believe us?
This time the doctype is the original one: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD
HTML 4.0//EN">

Mozilla shows it in the Standards mode. You can chack that by igh-clicking the
page and choosing age Info
Are you sure about the webmaster? In the meta-tag of www.tv4.pl I found
something like this:
NAME="Author" CONTENT="Fabian Rolof - dziadek@pnet.pl"
Again the DOCTYPE is now <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01
Transitional//EN">
Now the DOCTYPE is the same as on orginal page: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC
"-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0//EN">
Marek: The frames I've just played with have the following headers:

<meta HTTP-EQUIV="Reply-to" CONTENT="biuro@mv.net.pl">
<meta NAME="Author" CONTENT="MV.NET.PL - http://www.mv.net.pl">

I will use both addresses, asking the autor to change the DOCTYPE.

Actually, I believe that having two layout modes suck :-(
The description of how we decide on using Standards/Quirks mode is here:
http://www.mozilla.org/docs/web-developer/quirks/doctypes.html
I sent a letter asking for the DOCTYPE change to both dziadek@pnet.pl and
biuro@mv.net.pl.
Target Milestone: Dec → Jan
The webauthor answered that he just send an email about the problem to the
webadmin.
Target Milestone: Jan → Feb
The problem seems solved. Marking as FIXED.
