This is not truly a "regression" in the sense that this has likely always been broken. The "regressor" uncovered this next link in a chain of failures for making this test work.

I don't think we'll be prioritizing this particular issue until we've tackled some larger issues on the WebGPU roadmap with an identifiable impact. It's very likely that the resolution of those issues will fix this one, too.

I have a vague suspicion that this issue is similar to bug 1824042.
