Details

Found in
- Firefox 113.0b4
Affected versions
- Firefox 113.0b4
- Nightly 114.0a1
Tested platforms
- Affected platforms: Windows 11, Windows 10 (sometimes)
- Unaffected platforms: macOS 13 and Ubuntu 22.04
Steps to reproduce
- Have Firefox as default browser
- Run the default browser task from Task Scheduler
- Make Edge the default browser
- Run the default browser task again
- Change the date with 12h forward
Expected result
- The notification is dismissed from the screen.
Actual result
- The notification stays on the screen indefinitely.
Regression range
- Not applicable in this case.
Additional notes
- This does not reproduce on Windows 10
- I used multiple VMs with W11 and two actual machines with W11 and I could reproduce this on all of them.
- I am not sure if this is something that is controlled by Windows or not.
- I think this is of a low severity because actual people will interact with the notification in a short time when is displayed, either dismiss it or selecting YES.
- We had this happen on Windows 10 as well but only a few times, sometimes after we switch the time to 12h in the future a few minutes more (2-3min) of waiting will cause the notification to disappear.
