User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/112.0
Steps to reproduce:
Normal daily use of FF, no web pages open (or not: makes no difference). Close the application with either main menu 'Quit' or by the window 'X'.
Actual results:
FF starts creating 100's (1000's?) of processes. Using the system monitor, all CPUs go to 100% continuously. After some period, perhaps a minute or so, one of two things happens: either FF finally crashes wit a crash report being sent, or the system crashes and the computer reboots.
Expected results:
FF should terminate normally.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Thanks for the report! Please check tomorrow if this has been fixed in Firefox 113.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
FF 113 seems to have cured this problem.
