Steps to reproduce:
Open any https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/
article, and ram starts to grow, and grow, and well.. if i don't kill the process.. it keeps growing.. and my ram fills completely.
Actual results:
Memory Leak up to 21GB (i didn't want to test more than this.. i care about my pc.

The Memory Report shows 8.4 gb because the browser starts to freeze and lag. so if i don't click the button earlier.. my memory continues to grow and grow.. and the file doesn't save. but trust me.. the memory goes up to 21 gb. i have some proofs here with screenshots https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1413146

The main process has this:
6,670.08 MB (78.95%) ── heap-unclassified
Isolated Web Content (pid 82952) has this:
2,111.16 MB (91.24%) ── heap-unclassified
I assume that content process is for the site https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/ mentioned in comment 0.
That is indeed a lot of memory being used! Unfortunately this doesn't give any information about where it is actually going.
The WebExtension process is using almost 700MB of memory, which is still quite a lot, even though it is a lot less than the other processes above.
Nothing looks too high individual, though I do see this:
188.68 MB (28.81%) ── structured-clone-holder [97783]
That means there are almost 100,000 structured-clone-holders, which is quite a lot!
This makes me suspect that some extension might be involved here.
Can you try disabling some of your extensions and seeing if this still occurs? The Answers web page doesn't look like it has any media on it. Maybe CopyTables is the issue? That page does look like it could result in a complex table.

After some testing, the memory leak was caused by Tampermonkey
But not the extension itself.. a script i installed.

It seems this script.. creates somehow a Memory Leak that infinitely eats ram. i don't know why.
This.. seems quite problematic.
A script is.. able to do this?

I manually edited the script, line 14 and 15:
// @include http://*
// @include https://*
I put in these two lines this:
// @include http://www.youtube.com/*
// @include https://www.youtube.com/*
The issue is resolved it seems. no more memory leaks.

I'm glad you figured it out. I'll move this over to the WebExtensions component.
Maybe there's something to be done to avoid huge leaks like this, or maybe we can at least add some better memory reporters for whatever is going on here.
In general, the unfortunate downside of allow extensions to do very powerful things is that they can cause performance issues if they are not carefully written.

The strange this is that.. it only happens on the previous mentioned microsoft website.. for some strange reason. i didn't experience any memory leaks on any other website
well.. that's something i was able to fix by manually modifying the script. but.. to cause such a big issue.. what is wrong with this script?

I'm not sure this really belongs in the WebExtensions component. It looks like this is being caused by a particular user script, and I wouldn't expect a user script to cause that much heap-unclassified usage for an extension framework issue. That said, over 6GB of that is in the parent process, where a user script shouldn't run. Unfortunately, the script is pretty heavily obfuscated, so it's hard to see exactly what it's doing. I don't know if the source is available anywhere.
Either way, I guess someone should try to reproduce it and get a DMD report... I'll see if I can do something

Hello,
I could not reproduce the memory leak on the latest Release (113.0.1/20230511191846) on Windows 10 x64.
I installed Tampermonkey and the script mentioned in Comment 9 and accessed an article on https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/ for once and then multiple articles to see if I can jog the leak. Memory usage remained minimal after an hour or so of testing, never going over 1 GB.
I’ll continue to investigate and post an update if I am able to reproduce on my end.
