Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/114.0

Steps to reproduce:

When I use Metamask, get U2F browser support is needed for Ledger. I have set the U2F setting to True and get the same message

Actual results:

Get U2F browser support is needed for Ledger message

Expected results:

With the security setting for U2F set to true, I shouldn't get this message.
This was working in previous versions of Firefox.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::DOM: Web Authentication' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → DOM: Web Authentication
Product: Firefox → Core

Can you check that your security.webauth.webauthn setting is true.

We dropped support for the legacy U2F Javascript API in Bug 1737205 / Firefox 114. (The U2F/CTAP1 protocol is still supported, but only through WebAuthn.)

security.webauth.webauthn is set to true

This will have to be fixed on the MetaMask side. Fortunately, this page says "The MetaMask team is actively investigating this issue and is working on a permanent solution".
