We introduced a new font styling system for android, which has an increased letter spacing value compared to the default value of the TextView element we are currently using, which happens to be 0.0. Applying the new system to the tabs list leaves less space for characters.

I was wondering if we need a special style for Text elements which we use in cases where putting the most characters into the limited space might be a priority. Or are we actually okay with the shorten version of the text in the tab list?

A decision has been made by UX to keep the new letter-spacing since the website title is displayed over 2 lines and a few characters won’t make a huge difference. They are also working on a typography audit right now and anticipate there to be some changes, so this type style might change in the near future anyway.

Compared the latest Beta 118.0b4 build to the latest Nightly build (119.0a1 from 2023-09-04T16...) with and without Tabs Tray to Compose rewrite enabled.
Verified as fixed on the latest Nightly build.
Device used: Google Pixel 7 (Android 14).
