User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/113.0

Steps to reproduce:

Open my MacBook from hibernated stated especially after my Macbook was hibernated for a long time (such as over night). Note: Firefox was opened before my macbook went into hibernated state (i.e., I closed the lid).

Actual results:

After opening the laptop (after a long hibernation) and logging in, I went to firefox. Firefox started refreshing the pages and this caused a lot of user identification request pop-ups to occur and "bombard" my screen. I think if I don't click "ok" to one of the pop-ups fast enough, it seems to go into the "background" (see attached) and the firefox window is stuck (i.e. can't do anything with it). I cannot even select or bring to the front that pop-up window confirming user identification certificate to use.

Expected results:

At minimal, the firefox window should not become inoperable. I should be able to select that pop-up again or at least dismissed it without it affecting the entire window (which is full of tabs).
At best, firefox should remember my previous choice (the remember my decision box is checked) so that I don't even get these pop-ups in the first place.

Judging by your user agent, you're on version 109? We just fixed bug 1820628, which may make this situation better. If you use the latest Nightly (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/ - scroll down a bit), does it work?

Flags: needinfo?(sphuong)

I am on Firefox 113. I am not sure what the 109 means or how to confirm it. How do I confirm it?

I will try Nightly and let you know.

Flags: needinfo?(sphuong)

Nevermind about the 109 thing.

I have been using Nightly for a while now and the problem no longer appears to occur. So, whatever was done seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks.

Great - thanks!

It looks like the problem reproduced again with Nightly:

116.0a1 (2023-06-13) (64-bit)

This time it occurred when I open a new webpage. I think this problem occurs when there are a bunch of pop-ups asking for user authentication and you don't click ok fast enough before the next one pop-ups. That is my best guess as to why this is happening. But the problem is now back with the nightly version above.
