Preconditions

  • in about:config, set the preference "layout.css.font-visibility.private" to 1.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Navigate to one of these two pages: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yi_Radicals or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yi_Syllables
  3. Look at the "Glyph" column from the first accessed page.

Expected result

  • The symbols are correctly displayed.

Actual result

  • Tofu boxes are displayed in PBM, when accessing the test pages.

Regression range

  • Not a regression.

Additional notes

  • See the attached screenshot.
  • Not reproducing in Beta where the pref layout.css.font-visibility.private is set to 3.

We've recheck this issue on latest Nightly 116.0a1 with Ubuntu 22.04 x64, and it seems that the tofu boxes are still displayed on private window when accessing the pages from comment 0.

The issue is not repro on normal window.
