Details

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Make sure Firefox isn't running.
  2. Launch Firefox.
  3. After previous page loads, go into windowed mode, or resize window.

Actual results:

Content of page will go black until you quit Firefox (entirely) and relaunch, OR until you open a new tab, then return to your old tab.

All tabs will also exhibit the same issue, until a new tab is opened, after which Firefox will operate normally.

Video of the issue: https://youtu.be/MlIUhU42hpQ

Expected results:

The window should resize and the content should re-render/re-scale appropriately.

Adding some details as requested: This was reproduced on Android 12 on a Samsung Galaxy S10, and Android 13, on a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4.

Hey Zac, do we have a meta or grouping of foldable bugs?

Severity: -- → S3

Just to clarify, this isn't just a bug on Foldable devices.

This can happen any time Firefox is being run in "windowed" mode while multi-tasking, and the window gets resized.

I've reproduced this on both a Galaxy S10 candy bar phone, as well as on an Z Fold4 foldable phone.

It's more prevalent on foldables because they get used for multi-tasking more often than traditional candy bar phones, but not exclusive to foldables.

Did this ever get fixed? I haven't seemed have it happen in a long time on my Z Fold4 running OneUI 6.1.1, but I'm not sure if that's due to an actual fix, or if some other variable has changed that just makes it less likely to happen.

On my Galaxy S10, it still happens every time.

Both seem to be running the latest version of Firefox for Android 133.0.3.
