User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 13; Mobile; rv:109.0) Gecko/113.0 Firefox/113.0

Steps to reproduce:

Clicked a scripted page component that delivered a pdf file

Actual results:

The app automatically opens the pdf in Firefox's pdf viewer, without offering me the option to either

  • download the file (IE ot use Firefox as a pdf viewer)
  • open the file in Firefox

Expected results:

As a user who downloads many many pdfs, sometimes via sites that use script to stream the files I want to start multiple parralel downloads and NOT have the files display in firefox. I should have been offered a download option before it opened automatically the pdf viewer.

Suggest a menu setting that turns on asking this question or performing current behaviour.

An option to immediately open in another app would also be useful. Download them open isn't too annoying but it be nice to make this one-click.

Component: Downloads → PDF Viewer
Product: Fenix → GeckoView
Version: Firefox 113 → unspecified
Severity: -- → N/A

This use case is supported by long pressing and then selecting "Download link".
