Linux (1999-11-09-11 M11) Win32 (1999-11-09-11 M11) Mac (1999-11-09-11 M11) steps: 1. In Seamonkey, from the Inbox folder, select a message 2. Click on the Forward button, and send the message to yourself 3. View the forwarded message Actual result: In the forwarded message, notice that there is a separate table describing; Sender: Message ID: Date: From: To: Subject: Expected result: I expect it to look like that of nova's in which header information looks like part of the original message with only Date, From, To and Subject field. In addition, a horizontal line separates the original message from the added forwarded text. I checked the spec, unable to find information about the forward message. This applies to all platforms.
Reassign to rhp. Not a B1 issue.
Easy fix for this...just need to decide what we want. Sol? - rhp

Rich - not sure what to suggest here. I agree with Lisa that the 4.5 has the right implementation. Namely, mimic the "normal" envelope information in the body of the forwarded message, but see questions below. Questions: Not sure how close we are in implementing the message envelope to spec, since we have the problem of not being able to scroll 2 frames at the same time. Also, will mimicking the envelope in a forwarded message cause problems for folks with plain text email readers? I just did a "send as plain text" in 4.7, retreived the message which was in plain text, and noticed that the envelope information was *pretty*. I like this, and am wondering if this can be continued in Seamonkey.
I'll mimick 4.7. - rhp
I added this to the Main Mail spec. Is it possible to implement as pictured? The only changes are: Different alignment of headers. Is this possible? They take up less space this way and are less dominant in the message. Is it possible to not include "References" in the Brief headers? I think most users don't have a clue what they mean. I think I can make it look like the specs. I'll try to do that. - rhp
Ok, when the tree opens, I will checkin changes that fix this problem. Now the reply/forward should look a lot like the spec mentioned in this bug report. Also, the separator between the original message and the headers of the forwarded message has returned :-) - rhp
