Steps to reproduce:

I've clicked on "Open in Desktop app" on spotify site in firefox, "about:blank" tab is opened, i clicked on "Open in Desktop app" again, and again this "about:blank" tab is opened, that's not good.

Actual results:

I've clicked on "Open in Desktop app" on spotify site in firefox, "about:blank" tab is opened, the more you click the more this "about:blank" tabs will open.

Expected results:

Edge for example closes this blank tabs after spotify app is opened, firefox should do this too, this "about:blank" tabs created each time i click "Open in Desktop app" is annoying.

Spotify doesn't do anything particularly fancy here; it just opens a URL like the following:
