Bug 1832215 required an uplift to release to fix its regression from bug 1799258.
We need to add regression tests for it to try to prevent this from happening again.

Yes, we cannot move forward with our previous work here unfinished, and we have been bitten by regressions here, and that needs to stop.

Severity isn't scoped to track work like this. (Neither is Priority unfortunately.) If we need to keep track of important work like this we should use some other method, like a whiteboard tag or NI. S2s are reserved for bugs that qualify as '(Serious) Major functionality/product severely impaired or a high impact issue and a satisfactory workaround does not exist.'
