Attached video 20230629_173827.mp4

Environment:
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64
Firefox version: Firefox Nightly 116.0a1 (2023-06-27) (64-bit)

Preconditions:
Clean profile

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Navigate to: https://www.twitch.tv/
  2. Select a stream and open it in fullscreen mode.
  3. Left-click on the gear icon ("Settings") from the video action bar.
  4. Select the "Popout Player" option.
  5. Observe the result.

Expected Behavior:
The stream is opened in a new window tab and continues to play.

Actual Behavior:
The stream stops and the newly opened window tab si not present in front.

Notes:

  1. Reproducible regardless of the status of ETP.
  2. Reproducible on the latest build of Firefox Nightly and Release.
  3. Works as expected using Chrome.
  4. The stream is opened in a new window tab in the background and can be observed if the browser is closed/minimized.
  5. Reproduces if the video is not opened in fullscreen mode.

Verified this issue and could not reproduce it on Firefox versions 122 and 124.

Tested with:

Browser / Version: Firefox Release 122.0 (64-bit)/ Firefox Nightly 124.0a1 (2024-01-27) (64-bit)
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64
