version : MachO 20021207 When trying to install leech, FizzillaMach immediately crashes. leech works perfectly in the macosX-trunk builds. 1) I've only tried with 1.1.O as it's the one relevant for me 2) I've only used a downloaded xpi

I've done some further testing : I opened the xpi using Stuffit Expander The contents of the package is 1) install.js 2) leech (a folder) I've noticed that other xpi's has the contents as a *jar file, so using ZipIt, I made the leech folder into leech.jar, repackaged the xpi again and tried anew. This changed things considerably ! Now, MachO didn't crash but instead reported a -214 error It seems af if the install script fails to create the required folder in line 4 and falls through to line 19 Now, as the alert box said I might not have the required permissions, I used Terminal to 1) cd to folder with MachO Mozilla.app 2) sudo chown -R bjarnema:admin Moz* 3) sudo chmod -R 775 Moz* without any success :-(

the fix for 189514 doesn't resolve this bug :-( now, can someone tell me if this is also related to a bug/problem in the leech installer, or if this is a Mozilla only issue ???

this issue has surfaced in several mozdev.org projects...

jbetak : please give examples of the other ones. -- which project -- what build ID did you use -- what build ID did you first see this issue with it's not very helpful just to be told that there are other projects where this happens too. the programmers need something much more concrete to work with :-)

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; da-DK; rv:1.3b; MultiZilla v1.1.34 (d)) Gecko/20030221 talkback TB173234W
This is a dupe of bug 186088 and bug 196743. They all basically crash at the same place. I tracked down the problem and will post it to bug 186088. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 186088 ***
