Environment:
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64
Firefox version: Firefox Nightly 117.0a1 (2023-07-20) (64-bit)
Preconditions:
Clean profile
A previous attempt to translate an image was successfully made
Steps to reproduce:
- Navigate to: https://translate.google.com/?hl=en&tab=TT
- Click on the hamburger menu located at the top left side of the page.
- Click on the "Help" button from the newly opened menu.
- Observe the text inside the search bar.
Expected Behavior:
The placeholder text is normal.
Actual Behavior:
The placeholder text is faded.
Notes:
- Reproducible regardless of the status of ETP.
- Reproducible on the latest build of Firefox Nightly and Release.
- Works as expected using Chrome.

Verified this issue and still reproduces on Firefox 122, 123 and 124.
Tested with:
Browser / Version: Firefox Release 122.0 (64-bit)/ Firefox Nightly 124.0a1 (2024-01-31) (64-bit) /Firefox Beta 123.0b5(64-bit)/ Chrome Version 121.0.6167.86 (Official Build) (64-bit)

This is not a compatibility issue, since the colour is set by the default user agent style.

We might as well reopen this and make it blocked by our KB bug for these faded-placeholder-color issues.
