User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/117.0

Steps to reproduce:

1. Pin a site to your "shortcut list" (I don't know how to call it) on the New Tab page
2. Go to the settings of that shortcut, change the Custom Image URL to any URL
3. Wait for it to load, icon shows on preview
4. Click save, icon disappears and shows nothing instead

Actual results:

The icon is blank.

Expected results:

The icon should be from the custom URL specified in the shortcut settings.

I managed to reproduce your issue, however, I believe it is a duplicate of bug 1485379 and shall mark it as such.
Please track this issue in bug 1485379.
