User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021207 Phoenix/0.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021207 Phoenix/0.5 I have the toolbar bookmarks enabled, and several entries in there, with popdown menus. Anyway, some entries appear to have the favicon.ico from other sites. This is dynamic--that is, over time, which icons show in which slots is not necessarily consistent. I've seen the 'BBC' entry with icons from many other sites. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. No special steps required. I found this merely by going from one site with a favicon.ico to another. Actual Results: The favicon.ico associated with bookmarks change. No apparent reason. Expected Results: Have the proper favicon.ico for each site, or at least use the default one. I have images to illustrate the problem. Let me know how I should submit them.
Reporter, did you try with a new profile? Some guidelines for creating a new profile can be found here: http://texturizer.net/phoenix/bugs.html This is very similar to bug 174265 (which was fixed about 6 weeks ago, so new nightlies shouldn't have it).
Still does it, even with a new profile. I could show you a screenshot, but it's identical. Anyway, the URLs for the sites in question are: http://news.yahoo.com/ http://news.bbc.co.uk/ http://www.slashdot.org/ http://www.thecarconnection.com/ It seems to pop up for more than those, but the sites listed are the ones in the screenshot. You think I should alter my bookmarks file? I looked through it and didn't see any improper references. Here it is, also.
When you created a new profile, did you carry forward your bookmarks.html file? If so, then you carried the problem forward as well. Exit the browser and manually edit bookmarks.html, removing all of the ICON="" attributes. At least I think that's what Asa had said on MozillaZine once.
Sounds like a bug carried forward with a corrupted bookmarks file. Start over with a clean bookmarks file or manually edit your bookmarks.html file as suggested above.
