Steps to reproduce:
Tried to enable E2EE on call.element.io.
Actual results:
It says the browser doesn't support E2EE.
Expected results:
RTCRtpScriptTransform has been added to 117. However, OSs below Windows 10 are stuck on 115 ESR.
If it is possible for RTCRtpScriptTransform to be backported to the ESR branch, it will enable users on older OSs to benefit from end to end encryption for videoconferencing.
Hi, sorry I keep pinging you. If this idea is feasible, could this be triaged accordingly?

I don't work on the WebRTC team and I'm not the triage owner for this Bugzilla component. Forwarding this needinfo to the triage owner, Byron.

The bug where this was done is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1631263 so the request would be made there.

So, does call.element.io work on Nightly? This is an awfully big thing to backport, and we don't support Win 7/8 anymore.
Yes, it does, as reported by the Element developers themselves on their Youtube channel.
It's understandable if this can't be backported. But it would have been a big win for privacy for users stuck on ESR 115 for whatever reason. Not to mention that sometimes one has to join an encrypted call (on Zoom, etc.) started by someone else and the only way to do so is to use a non-Firefox browser.
